Never fails to serve quality fried chicken. I've been coming here for years for it and Wayfare has never failed to keep me satisfied with the side of burrata whipped potatoes. It's a lot creamier than your usually mashed potatoes so if that's not your thing, then there's plenty of other sides to choose from. This particular time also had the pasta with king mushrooms and thoroughly enjoyed the dish. Service has been wonderful every single time. Ambiance gives off an old speakeasy feel with the dim lights and decor. Lots of business meals here. I've been in attire from bridal shower to more on the casual side here. Gets a bit crowded if you're going during dinner time so I'd try and make a reservation if you're going at peak hours. Parking's going to be garage. Difficult to find street parking around the area and may be congested pending the time of day.

This was my first time here at this place! The menu had delicious items. I came with my best friend; we both got the salad; she had it with salmon and I had mines with the fried chicken. It was so delicious. It was definitely a beautiful day in SF; plus we sat outside. The service was amazing!

Quite a fancy restaurant with elegant but warm decoration. The Prime Beef Tartare was very flavorful and came with crispy chips, which was quite refreshing for lunch. The waiter was attentive and gave me good advice on the size of the dish.

I've had Wayfare Tavern bookmarked for some time and was finally able to visit on a recent weekend trip to SF. I grew up watching Tyler Florence on Food Network so I was super excited to be able to try his very own restaurant! This was my first time having popovers and although I don't have much to compare it to, it tasted amazing! The server placed a fresh, steaming popover + a pad of butter on the table to start off the night. Next up was a fresh Caesar salad, which wasn't overdressed and had the perfect amount of cheese. For mains, I ordered the "Fresh Tagliatelle Pasta" and my brother ordered the "Skuna Bay Salmon Aquacotta." I don't know how his dish was (he never shared) but he seemed to enjoy it, since there was nothing left! My pasta was cooked perfectly, but the sauce was very rich. I was expecting it to be more of a tomato cream sauce (description was foraged mushrooms, arugula, parmesan, rosa cream sauce) but it was just cream. After the heavy main course I opted for a light strawberry sorbet for dessert! Yes, there is always room for dessert! Overall service, quality of food and dining atmosphere made the night one to remember. I'd definitely come back and bring along my friends and family.

We came here during Restaurant Week for dinner and were glad that we tried this restaurant. The Restaurant Week dinner was a prix-fixe menu that consisted of a popover, butter lettuce salad, a choice between organic fried chicken or braised beef cheek stroganoff, and a house-made doughnut. These items are available on their regular menu too. We all opted for the beef cheek stroganoff which was so tender, and the accompanying gnocchi was springy without being doughy. We also ordered the beer-battered fried asparagus with bearnaise sauce. The asparagus spears were tender and not overcooked. The batter was not greasy at all. For dessert, the doughnut comes out of the fryer piping hot so use the utensils provided or wait a bit. With the doughnut is creme fraiche and a berry dipping sauce. The ambiance of the restaurant is quite nice. It's housed in an old San Francisco building and decorated in a stately manner. Service is very good and friendly. It was attentive without being intrusive. We came on a Sunday so street parking was easy.

Let's talk Deviled Eggs. Two of us ate here on a business trip. We ordered the Deviled Eggs as an appetizer. First of all, there are 6. They are also pretty loaded. They stack the yolk "mixture" pretty high. Which is usually great, I do enjoy a good sized serving. But for the 2 of us it was too much. You can definitely taste the truffle oil. Which I enjoyed at first but then felt it was too much. I honestly prefer more of a mustard flavor. Which this had a light mustard flavor, but the truffle oil flavor was a little overpowering. So if you have a table of 4, want something different, and a little decadent then you will like these. But I would have stopped after 1 and then politely passed so the others at your table can indulge. You will need the room for the main serving.
